Her Story

If I could sum up my life in one word, it’s “Basketball.” Growing up as a basketball enthusiast, I achieved success at an early age, winning 4 International Championships before the age of 12. Despite my Junior High School not having a girls’ team, I continued to excel and was voted Miss World Biddy.

My basketball career began with trying out for the boys’ team and later became the starting point guard. I was blessed to have my success on the court follow me to high school where I was a 4-year starter, earning All-City and All-State honors.

Later, I became a scholarship athlete with a Division I basketball program in my hometown of Wichita at Wichita State University (WSU). During my time there earning my degree in Sports Administration, I was a 2-year starter and earned the honorable distinction of being one of the “50 Women You Need to Know in Wichita Sports.” Most recently, I was inducted into the Wichita East High School Hall of Fame, an honor that I cherish deeply.

When I graduated from college, I wanted to give back to the sport of basketball and my hometown of Wichita, which have both given me so much. This desire has lead me down the path of being a coach, mentor, business owner, and community advocate for young women in the city of Wichita over the past 20 years.

I founded Pound the Rock Project (PTRP) with the hope to create a space for young female athletes to thrive in a way that many of the young women were able to when I was growing up. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Melvin Randle, and our two sons, Jaylen and Julian. And our family currently resides in the Wichita area.
